Hello and happy Friday! This has been an awesome week for the Clawson choirs, with the conclusion of our auditions for this year’s production of Annie. This year we had over 60 students express interest in participating in the musical by singing a role, working as a member of the stage-crew, or playing in the pit orchestra. Our rehearsals for that will start the week of October 16th with a master schedule coming very soon. Results from the auditions will be posted today at 4:00pm on the choir room door and online on the main page of our website! There will be meetings for stage crew, pit orchestra, and cast members next week to give out the master schedule; be sure to check the calendar for dates and times.
In the classroom, we have continued our preparation for our December 15th Winter Choir Concert, with all ensembles working very hard and producing some great sounds! We have also finished up a form unit where students are now able to identify the structure and layout of different musical pieces. This is a vital skill to have for students because it gives them a greater sense of how music should be performed and allows them to identify similarities and differences in the music which helps greatly during rehearsal. I am very excited to start the musical and begin our work in about a week! As always if you have any questions please feel free to contact me by email. Have a great weekend!
